Roadrunner Lodge Motel

The best hotel on Route 66! A modern restoration with vintage vibes, the property is reminiscent of what a brand new hotel would have been like in the mid 1900s! As we opened the door to our room, a radio played vintage commercials, next to a tray of delicious Moon Pies. The bathroom was restored with a mid-century vibe, and the room itself was Impeccably clean with a very comfy bed and high end sheets. We selected an "Allergy Free" room, which is "politely enforced" and an unexpected option for a hotel that welcomes pets! Also onsite is laundry plus a classic car washing station with water, rags and towels free to use. The owner was very kind and attentive, and the gift shop had neat selection of cool branded items. Loads of parking, a firepit, enclosed pet area, and good vibes all around. Would definitely recommend staying here if you can..there is a lot of Route 66 epic nostalgia in walking distance..which adds to the experience!

My boyfriend and I stayed here with our dog for the night, as we were passing through. We love stopping by Tucumcari, and decided to give this cute place a try. We were so glad we did! The whole place is a step into a mid century aesthetic. Fresh paint, clean and well maintained property all around. They have a laundry room, offer snacks in the lobby along with souvenirs for purchase, and have patio chairs outside the rooms. When we walked into our room, there was a vintage style radio playing their curated radio station. I wish I could listen to this at home. We left it on as background noise when we slept. The bed was big and so so comfy. The bathroom towels were large and the water was hot. They offer pet friendly rooms, which is the kind of room we stayed in. They had a bowl with treats and a towel for us. Outside they had a large pet relieving area that was well lit and fenced in. They also have a large fire pit available for winding down. It was a great stay and an overall great experience. We will definitely be back! :)

Great motel in Tucumcari! The rooms were clean and cute. David had great recommendations and had the room fully stocked for our pup. They have a small dog park and cool fire pit. Would definitely stay again!

I’ve stayed at The Roadrunner twice now and each stay has been pleasant and comfortable. I like to sit outside, drink some wine and chat with the other guests. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. It’s more fun to stay in this hotel than one of the others near Route 40. The owner here has made an effort and offers a unique hotel. Lou J. California

Wonderful renovated Route 66 motel. The rooms have been remodelled in keeping with retro style but with modern comforts and convenience. Lots of lovely touches such as the radio playing music and advertisements from the 40s and 50s. We loved the Moon Pies In the Room too. Comfy bed and nice bathroom. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Del's restaurant across the road, is great. Would thoroughly recommend Roadrunner Lodge and would stay again.

A super charming spot to stay! Even though it’s very close to the highway, it has a cozy feel, making it convenient and comfy! The service was easy and kind, and our room had beautiful mid-century modern furniture and details. It was an amazing deal for the quality of sleep and the room :) plus bonus for the view of the local mountain from our window!! Thank you!

We came across this hotel because it was in a decent location for the night on the way to our actual destination. What started out as a simple night stay in our journey, turned into such a pleasant surprise. The room was very clean and well laid out. The light fixtures were beautiful. The radio playing gave such a fun vibe to take you back in time. The hotel is also very pet friendly, but assigns specific rooms for guests with pets, which for our group, made our stay even more convenient (we had a pet, and our travel companions were allergic to cats/dogs). The only downside was the mattress felt a little off. To be honest though, given the awesome service, the welcoming stay, I would definitely come back or tell others to stay because it was such a fun place. Thanks again all!

The owner was very helpful and friendly. The location was great on Rte 66 near the neon signs and restaurants. We went to the OdeonTheater for a show, was great! Everything was great. Our only issue is that there aren't any fridges in the rooms and the co.munal fridge should be a regular sized one. We stayed 2 nights. It is also pet friendly whereas Motel Safari and Blue Swallow are not. Be sure to check out the Welcome Center gift shop in an old gas station, she had unique items and only buys American made! (Unlike Teepee across the street)
